Like last year very enjoyable, and with the pumps added even better. Managed to visit on Saturday afternoon and even with most of the beer gone there was still enough to keep us happy. the staff could not have been a better bunch, even offering a taste before you commite to buying the full half pint.Even the entertainment was first class.
Once again thanks to them and to you for organizing it, can't wait till next year.

after the event
Made it at 1800 on the Thursday and was very impressed with the set-up. Enjoyed beer from the pump rather than from the barrel, as is the norm at the Aberdeen festival. Agree with previous comments about seating etc, but great oaks / little acorns. Entertainment was good as was the silent Whisky Galore film, Will the festival beer be available at any outlets ? it would make a nice xmas tipple. My thanks to the serving staff who were both enthusiastic and keen, nice to see service with a smile. cheers
Webmaster says: Thanks for the comments, we hope to improve the seating next year.

A great event.
Well done Robert and all his team. A great event and a great achievement by everyone involved. It was a wonderful sight to see all the Ales on handpulls which must have been a major challenge on it's own, never mind getting at least a cask from every brewery in Scotland. That must have been a first! Thanks for collecting our cask from Carnoustie and getting us in the festival at the very last moment. I'm looking forward to next year already. Well done.

great stuff
glad we got there early.Very impressed with the setup .I've been to a few festivals and the idea of having bands was spot on,they weren't to loud and just added to the atmosphere and the fine beer.
Thanks to all involved.
PS Nearly forgot the football ,top marks for that one.

unlucky ones
Well done guys. Myself and several others were unlucky not to get in. We did , however go to the Royal and saw a great band (Sanctuary) and had a great time. Hope you have another go next year. I live in Oldmeldrum and have contacts in Stoney. Next year I'll make sure to come earlier, a lot earlier. Once again. Well done to all. Great effort.
> P.S. Love the food at the Marine.
Webmaster says: So sorry you could not get in. Popularity of the ale and the small size of the venue meant we had no choice but to close the doors. We really did not want to do it but next time we hope to have a bigger venue and even more ale!

Idea
For the next event, would it be possible to provide some tables (to put your glass down on) around the hall and possibly some seats? The stovies went down well along with the ale (after I emptied my glass and put it in my pocket to free up my hands) but a bigger selection of food I think would be appreciated. Too much ale on an empty stomach isn't good. Other than that I enjoyed myself down there.
Webmaster says: Thanks for the comments, we'll possibly have a new venue next year and some thought needs to go into the setup.

Good night out.
Attended both evenings and tried beers from all the Scottish breweries I had never seen before. Well done for getting the Colonsay, Mull, Glenfinnan, Plockton, Traquair etc beers. It must have been a challenge estimating the amount of beer and arranging the number of attendees to almost match. Lasting till about 10pm on the closing day was a good result; it did get busy down at the Deeside end by the end of the night! Looking forward to next year. Scott

Unique event
Great effort by Robert and his team to collect casks from all the breweries (including ours, as a last-minute entry), making this a unique event. And putting everything on handpulls was another major plus-point. The stovies could've done with a bit more salt in them,,, but that's the only criticism of this wonderful success-story!
Webmaster says: Sorry about the stovies, we'll put more salt in the ale to compensate...

Thank you guys
A very big thank you to Robert, Iain and Kenny for organising the festival. The hard work you put in was very much in evidence on the night.
The beer choice and the condition it was served in was great. Fantastic to see the residents of Stonehaven get behind the festival after what has been a tough time for many of them.
Thanks to Rob at Deeside brewery as well. The festival ale was indeed like Dundee cake, a meal in itself!!!!!
Roll on next year with longer hours, an extra day and more beer.
Cheers everyone,
Keith from CAMRA Aberdeen

worthy event
Delighted that you are organising this Scottish beer festival. Stovies and entertainment! CAMRA will have to look to their laurels. It's sure to draw a large crowd. I'll be travelling from Aberdeen, so leave some of the Festival ale for me to sample. well done.
Webmaster says: We look forward to seeing you, bring as many as you can, tell your friends and colleagues we need to let the world know that the festival is on despite the inclement weather!
