All the profits from the real ale festival go toward the Maritime Rescue Institute. The MRI is a Scottish Charity (SCO32388) based in Stonehaven. All the following people and organisations have donated their time and effort towards making the Stonehaven real ale festival happen and have therefore provided a direct benefit to the MRI. Last year £3,535 was donated to the MRI.

| The Harviestoun Brewery |

Scotland’s most innovative micro-brewery, Harviestoun is a small,
independent concern staffed and run by individuals who are entirely
passionate about brewing.
Bitter & Twisted is a sharp, blond beer with a fresh hop profile
combining aromatic Hallertau Hersbrücker with spicy Challenger. It is
finished by late hopping with Styrian Goldings, which gives a citrus
sharpness – like the twist of a lemon.
A crisp cask conditioned lager, Schiehallion has a beautifully fresh
taste of grapefruit. Delicately crafted using Hersbrücker lager hops, it
is fermented at a very low temperature with lager yeast.
Old Engine Oil is strong and dark but wickedly smooth. Chocolate
dominates the palate but is nicely balanced by a hoppy bitterness.

| The Trybe A truly unique experience |

| The Trybe are a full on aural assault led by Great Highland Bagpipes and reinforced by fast and furious tribal drumming. The band really enjoys playing and loves nothing better than everyone on their feet rocking and dancing to their wild Pictish anthems.

Deeside Brewery are located in the heart of Royal Deeside,
Aberdeenshire. We are a stone’s throw from the River Dee, the natural
location for a brewery. The surrounding Grampian mountains provide the
inspiration for the original recipes and the pure, soft water of the
river is an essential ingredient in all our beers. Our beers take the
names of influential, but often overlooked, historic figures from the
area. Each is represented by ancient symbols found carved on Pictish
stones. They appear on all the pump clips and bottle labels, and each
beer has its own story to tell. We have relocated to a custom built
facility at Deeside Activity Park, near Aboyne.
